In-Christ-24-7
is a ministry
dedicated to believers living
their faith in the community; at work,
home and play. Fellowship with
God is not limited to Sunday morning and
Wednesday night services. Christianity
is a lifestyle, not a weekly event.
We live in a society where customs, even laws
reflect the beliefs and lifestyle of those who
are committed to what they believe. We
need to be thankful that we still live in a
country where where we can be free to
speak and live with God in our society.
This ministry is dedicated to promoting
Christian people to live their faith more
fully in every area of our lives and society.
Part of growing that
fellowship in our lives is learning to be
careful in choosing who we associate with.
Paul wrote, "Evil associations corrupt good
morals" Who do you associate with?
Do those people encourage you to grow closer
with God? Or because you work in a
secular environment are you constantly
associating with people that don't know the
Lord, and who discourage you from things
Christian. The scriptures teach us that as
Christians we are in the world, but we are not
of the world.
The evil in "evil
associations" does not just mean things like
criminal activities. Evil is anything
that works to drive you away from God.
Most people can say no to drugs and
promiscuous sex. But they listen passively or
even contribute to conversation that derides
Christianity. They compromise.
Years ago marriage was honored. Now,
many Christians divorce when the marriage
becomes uncomfortable. They don't think
twice about sex outside of marriage.
This kind of thinking does not build faith.
It questions the role of God and the
importance of following the guidance the Lord
gives us in his Word. Associating with
these doctrines will not make you more like
Christ.
So, while we may work with
all kinds of people we are called to take a
stand and represent who we are in Christ, not
let ourselves be influenced by away from God
by those around us. There are Christian
associations that we can participate in that
help us get stronger in that walk. As
Christians we can grow in faith by looking for
people in our fields to fellowship with.
Iron sharpens iron, the scripture says, and so
it is when people of faith get together to
strengthen one another.
The decision of who we
associate with goes to every area of our
lives. It affects where we live, shop,
play, work, send our kids to school, date,
marry, make friends with and so on.
Make your associations ones
that will help you grow in faith.
Our families are
tremendously dear to us. To grow in a
deeper faith and let God into out family life
we can choose to make friends with people that
will help us grow. An alternative is to
make friends of convenience. A lot of
families make friends just because they live
on the same street and have kids that are the
same age. Or they make friends
with the parents of kids of their friends as
they start meeting them in the early
grades. Its convenient. Resources
like Focus on
the Family and Family
Life Today (a ministry of Campus Crusade
For Christ) are independent ministries
geared to building the godly relationship in
the family.
Centering
our organizations on Christ focuses on building our
work environment to be faith friendly instead
"just business." It is available to live
and work in fellowship with the Lord and each
other.
Another area of life is our
finances. Do you seek the wisdom of God
in your financial affairs. Crown
Financial Ministries is an independent
ministry dedicated to incorporating faith into
our financial decisions.

| Believers live and
work together in the Bible.
And because he was of the same
craft, he abode with them, and
wrought: for by their occupation they
were tentmakers. Acts 18:3
Paul and the first century
believers did more than meet a couple
of times a week. They lived and
worked together. |
